COLLECTION OF ROMAN HIGH KARAT GOLD RINGS WITH CABOCHONS.

AD 1 - 400 A collection of three gold rings, including, from left to right: a slender ring with a hoop of near-circular section subtly thickened at the front to form a smooth bezel inset with a small circular red stone; a ring with a rounded hoop expanding to a rhomboid bezel plate centred by a high circular collet set with a red cabochon; and a ring with a narrow hoop supporting an oval bezel framed by a border of beaded wire around a circular box setting containing a red garnet. Size: D:12-17.93mm / US: 1/2-7 3/4 / UK: A-P; Weight: 6g. Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Belgium; formerly in a German private collection before 2000.
