COLLECTION OF SELJUK/BYZANTINE BRONZE OIL LAMPS Ca. AD 1000 - 1200. A collection of four bronze oil lamps. The first features a flaring, concave foot that provides stability and balance to the overall composition. The arched spout with its ivy-leaf-shaped nozzle is yet another testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the maker, as it is both functional and visually pleasing. The second has a polygonal-shaped body with vertical walls, a nozzle enlarged on the border and a short round handle with a moulded figure on top of it. The third has a globular body, a short handle, and a tubular spout. The fourth has a round body with a large filler hole, a polygonal section nozzle, and a round loop on the back embellished with a moulded bird on the top.
