Oil on canvas. 60 x 51 cm. The scene depicts a New Spanish invocation of Our Lady of the Rosary with Saint Dominic de Guzmán on the left, to whom a dog brings a burning ember to ward off temptations and Saint Francis of Assisi on the right, with his stigmata. The Virgin Mary is portrayed as Queen of the angels, as they pay tribute and surround her.  She has one of the litanies of Loreto and the attribute and command to 'pray the rosary'.
