COLOSSAL EGYPTIAN BLACK STONE FRAGMENT OF STATUE OF THE PHARAOH RAMESSES II New Kingdom, XIX Dynasty regin of Ramesses II Ca. 1379- 1212 BC. A large fragment from the lower torso of an over-lifesize statue, carved in dark hardstone. It preserves the convex abdomen with a neatly drilled navel, set above the vertically incised pleats of the shendyt kilt; a broad waistband with a diagonal tie crosses the waist. For similar see: B.
