Pierre Comba (Nice, 1859-1934) was a French painter and watercolourist. A student of Jean-Louis Gérôme at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, he became the official painter of the French Army. For some thirty years, he accompanied Alpine hunter battalions to the theatre of operations, including during the Great War; he produced delicate watercolours depicting Alpine hunters in mountainous settings. In 1903, he became a member of the Société des peintres de montagne, where he exhibited regularly from 1907 to 1914.
