A flamed violet wood veneered chest of drawers opening with a leaf decorated with a scene entitled "le serment d'aimer toute sa vie" ("the oath to love for life") in European Martin varnish, standing on eight sheathed legs (chips to the varnish, cracks). Richly ornamented with chased and gilded bronzes such as winged sphinxes with foliage and acanthus leaves, channel frieze, keyhole, spandrels, framing mouldings, hooves, aprons, masks and foliage.
