A Greek-style chest of drawers in moulded mahogany and mahogany veneer, opening with two drawers without rails, the rounded jambs resting on curved legs. Chased and gilt bronze ornamentation such as draw handles, escutcheons and slippers on the four feet. Grey marble top. Height 88.5 cm - Width: 130.7 cm - Depth: 60 cm (Chips, cracks, old restorations to the marble) Transitional period. Attributed to Jean-François Oeben (1721-1763), master in 1761. This chest of drawers is a variation on the Greek-style chests of drawers with three drawers and two side doors developed by Jean-François Oeben in the early 1760s, notably for Madame de Pompadour at the Château de Ménars and for the Duc de Choiseul at the Château de Chanteloup.
