Tombel chest of drawers in brass marquetry on a mahogany base, opening with two drawers in two rows, the corners with arched uprights detached from the body of the piece of furniture and terminating at the base in lion's paw feet lined at the back with trunnions, the upper part with busts of sphinxes. Brown veined marble top (composed of several assembled slabs). Modern work in the Louis XIV style Size 94 x 155 x 68 cm This chest of drawers is directly inspired by the model created by André Charles Boulle for the King's new bedroom at the Grand Trianon in 1708-1709 and now kept at Versailles (VMB 14279.1).
