LOUIS XV REGIONAL CHEST OF DRAWERS Probably made in the South of France In walnut and cherry wood, with floral lacquered decoration embellished with gold butterflies on a black background, chased and gilded bronze ornamentation, restored Brignoles pink marble top, the front opening out into three drawers with no visible crosspiece, the apron decorated in the centre with a shell, resting on caprid hoofed legs at the front and arched legs at the back. H.85 cm (33 ½ in.) l. 129 cm (50 ¾ in.) P.64 cm (25 in.) Provenance : Probably former Georges Renand collection (1879-1968) ; His daughter, Madame Jeannine Renand-Chapet (1918-2017) Acquired from the latter by the current owner ; Private European collection.
