COMMYNES (Philippe de) Paris, Poitiers, Enguillebert de Marnef, 25 September 1528. Croniques du Roy Charles huytiesme de ce nõ. Pet. in-4 (25,7 x 18 cm), bound in Jansenist garnet morocco, spine ribbed, interior framed with gilt designs, edges gilt (Yseux Sr de Thierry-Simier). [4] ff. lx ff. with long lines in gothic script. A-K6. Title in an architectural frame, large figure of arms (France), 5 figures in the text and numerous lettrines (mainly with sieved background and grotesques), all wood-engraved. Title printed in black and red. First edition of the second part of Commynes' text. These two parts were printed together from 1529. This text was intended to complement the first editions of Chronique te histoire by the same author. Two shorter introductory leaves, one at the head, the other at the gutter, with no damage to the text; a small hole filled in the last 5 ff, with slight damage to the text, white margin at the foot of the last leaf reconstituted.
