First collective edition of Condorcet's works, prepared between 1801 and 1804 by his widow Marie-Louise-Sophie de Grouchy Condorcet, with the assistance of A.-A. Barbier, P.-J.-G. Cabanis and Dominique Joseph Garat. The publication of this first edition took place in a very difficult context and was fraught with pitfalls. It remains of fundamental historical interest, both for the unpublished works it published for the first time and for the notes and commentaries written by Condorcet's inner circle, notes that were not always included in later editions.
