APPLIQUE CONSOLE, ITALY, late 18th CENTURY
Rectangular, gilded and grey lacquered wood, moulded and carved with a frieze of acanthus leaves on the belt. It stands on scrolled console jambs adorned with flowers and a large acanthus leaf, joined by a laurel brace centred on an allegory of love with kissing doves, a quiver and a torch. Claw feet, marble top in matching sarrancolin veneer.
