*EMPIRE RECTANGULAR CONSOLE in mahogany veneer and gilded wood in imitation imitation gilt bronze. The belt decorated with applied gilded wood with rosettes, palmettes and stars, The front opens to reveal a pull-out drawer. The front jambs feature busts of Caryatids of Caryatids mounted in sheaths ending in feet feet in sandals. The back is stamped LPO and crowned. (Mark of Louis Philippe d'Orléans from 1821 à 1830). Work attributed to Martin-Eloy Lignereux (1751-1809). Empire period, circa 1804. Black marble top. Height : 98 cm - Width : 150 - Depth : 50 cm (Very good condition, restorations, small accidents) PROVENANCE - Probably acquired around 1804 by Marie-Adélaïde, Duchess of Orléans (1753-1821) from Martin-Eloy Lignereux (1751-1809). - Louis-Philippe d'Orléans (future King of the French) probably for the Château d'Eu or the Château d'Amboise. - Private collection.
