In "A Samothrace", Peyrat stages a nude female figure whose posture and presence are inevitably reminiscent of the classical aesthetic of the Nike of Samothrace. Balancing between mythological allusion and modern interpretation, body and background merge in flowing lines and delicate layers of colour. The nude appears enraptured, almost floating - a homage to the ideal of the divine in the human.
