Approbation, Table - the mention of "Table des chapitres contenus dans ces deux volumes" refers to the in-8 edition which is composed of two volumes]. Paperback in muted dust jacket, entirely untrimmed; brittle binding, a few separate sections, paper missing from spine, but very fresh inside. This first biography of James Cook - the only one for forty years - was published in England in 1788. It covers Cook's entire life, from his birth in 1728 to his death in February 1779.
