Celadon jade (nephrite) bowl, China, late 19th/early 20th century With incised decoration of deer in landscapes, the handles carved with figurative scenes, on one side a scholar seated against a rock, a ruyi in his hand, under a tree in blossom, on the other a young boy (holding an inkstone?) seated on a rock under a pine tree, the stone with brown veins. The foot is chipped, the flowers are chipped and missing. L. 15 cm Provenance: Tajan, at Drouot, Paris, 16/11/1988, lot 75. This lot was part of the collection of a geology enthusiast from Lyon, built up between 1970 and 1990.
