CREMIEUX-CRUPPI (Louise). Avant l'Heure. Paris, Paul Ollendorff, 1905. In-12, contemporary cherry red morocco, triple gilt filleting on the covers, spine decorated with boxes trimmed with triple filleting, large inner lace, gilt head, cover (J. Kauffmann). First edition. One of 5 copies on Hollande laid paper, from the library of the author's husband, Jean Cruppi (with bookplate). This first novel was inspired by the career of the composer Georges Bizet, with whom the author shared a taste for Spain that led Ravel to dedicate L'Heure Espagnole to him. A very fine copy, perfectly bound by J. Kauffmann.
