The arms of the cross are linked by four Savoy knot love lakes in braided gold wire. In the centre of the cross, on the obverse, is a gold medallion enamelled blue, featuring the crown of the King of the Lombards. The gold medallion on the reverse features a black-enamelled eagle with the enamelled Savoy cross in its mandorla, heraldic symbols taken from the great arms of the sovereigns of the House of Savoy. The ribbon is tierced with a white stripe between two red stripes, with a rosette. Miniature present. Beautiful complete box from the manufacturer DCO Cravanzola ROMA. A handwritten letter from the Ministero degli affari esteri, dated 3 March 1902, awarding this decoration in the grade of officer to Enrico Leone Lachaze, President of the Civil Court of Dax. A handwritten letter from the Ministry of Justice, dated 1902, awarding him the insignia of the Crown of Italy. A parchment from the Grand Chancellery of the Legion of Honour authorising the wearing of this decoration. Some wear and patina. Condition II+. At the centre of the cross, on the obverse, a gilt and blue-enamel medallion depicting the crown of the Lombard kings, on the reverse, a gilt medallion showing a black-enamelled eagle bearing the Savoy cross, heraldic symbols of the House of Savoy. Ribbon composed of a white band between two red bands, with rosette. Miniature present. Fine, complete case by DCO Cravanzola, Rome.
