CYPRIOT OR EAST ANATOLIAN BLACKISH STONE CYLINDER SEAL WITH BIRD-FACED FIGURES
Ca. 1400 - 1250 BC. A blackish stone cylinder seal depicting human or divine figures with bird faces, alongside the symbol of Marduk and a lunar crescent in the exergue, possibly influenced by Mesopotamian style. Studied by PD Dr. habil. Pieter Gert van der Veen, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. Size: 30mm x 15mm; Weight: 26.56g Provenance: Private UK collection; Ex.
