CYPRIOT TERRACOTTA BLACK VARNISH TREFOIL OINOCHOE Ca. 800 - 600 BC. A terracotta oinochoe with a globular body tapering to a small ring foot, a short neck, and a trefoil mouth with a thickened rim. A single vertical strap handle extends from the shoulder to the rim. The surface is coated in a light slip and decorated with horizontal bands of dark varnish encircling the neck, body, and lower section. Additional black stripes are applied along the handle and across the rim.
