LADIES' BUREAU Louis XV style, Paris circa 1860, signed on the chateau P. Sormani Paris, 10 r. Charlot (Paul Sormani, 1817-1877). Amaranth and satinwood in veneer and inlaid in reserves with light-coloured fillets. Rectangular, curved leaf set in a brass frame and covered with light blue, gold-stamped leather. On a wavy, cut-out, single-leg frame with curved legs and sabots. Gilt, chiselled bronze mounts in the form of rocailles and leaves. 83.5 × 56 × 73.5 cm. Good, restored condition. Leather with few signs of wear. Provenance: Private property in western Switzerland.
