Meijer has confirmed the authenticity on the basis of a photograph, for which we would like to thank him. He describes the painting as a very beautiful and characteristic example of the collaboration between the still-life painter Daniel Seghers and Erasmus Quellinus, and, on the basis of stylistic features, dates it around 1645. The painting is signed by Daniel Seghers with the addition "Societatis Jesu", which testifies to the painter's affiliation with the Jesuit order. DANIEL SEGHERS UND ERASMUS QUELLINUS D. J. Er bezeichnet das Gemälde als ein sehr schönes und charakteristisches Beispiel der Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Stilllebenmaler Daniel Seghers und Erasmus Quellinus und datiert es aufgrund stilistischer Merkmale um 1645. Das Gemälde ist von Daniel Seghers mit dem Zusatz "Societatis Jesu" signiert, der die Zugehörigkeit des Malers zu dem Jesuitenordnen bezeugt.
