The bust of Ferdinand II de' Medici is close to the marble bust of the Grand Duke by Bartolomeo Cennini (active from 1624 to 1675); (cfr. K. Langedijk, op. cit. p. 800, no. 70). The busts differ in specific details such as the decoration of the breastplate and the cross of the Order of San Stefano, but the general representation is the closest in the sculptural corpus of portraits of Ferdinand II presented by Langedijk. *Information for buyers: Lot from outside the EU: The hammer price is exclusive of VAT.
