DAUNIAN BICHROME TERRACOTTA ASKOS IN THE FORM OF A DUCK WITH TRIPLE-HORNED LID Ca. 450 - 350 BC. A terracotta askos in the stylised form of a duck, with a globular body, a duck-head protome, a wide spout pierced with small straining holes, and an upright arching handle. The surface is painted in red and dark brown slip with broad panels extending across the body and handle, incorporating wavy and angular linear motifs. The detachable conical lid is topped with a prominent triple-horn finial, each horn painted with encircling brown bands. For similar see: The University of Glasgow, Object Number GLAHM D.1981.45.
