Silver tankard with lid. Cylindrical body supported by three feet in the shape of sculpted, crowned lions with a domed hinged lid. Another crowned lion as a thumb rest. The body and lid decorated with lavish acanthus leaf decoration, rocailles and flowers over a chased ground. Engraved laurel leaf frieze all round below the slightly flared lip rim. Ear-shaped handle on the side. Marked 835, maker's mark and dated; weight approx. 735 g. H. 17 cm. A German silver lidded tankard. Standard mark 835, maker's mark and dated. German. Höhr-Grenzhausen. Rastal. 1978.
