PURARI DELTA, Gulf of Papua.
Kaiaimunu" or "bullroarer" rhombus consisting of a flat wooden blade that howls or roars as it spins in the air on a rope. Bullroarers occupy a traditional place of honour in men's ceremonial pavilions. They were used at the funerals of important men and were called imunu viki ("weeping spirits").
