Lot no. 1928
Tooth of Spinosaurus aegyptiacus, Morocco, Kem Kem plateau, Cenomanian Cretaceous (~97 million years ago), with custom-made base, h. 6.07 cm
Note: Spinosaurus was a theropod dinosaur that was both carnivorous and piscivorous, and lived in what is now North Africa. Recent discoveries suggest that it was adapted to swimming and was therefore able to alternate between a semi-aquatic and terrestrial lifestyle, like crocodiles and turtles. It could have been 15 metres long and weighed around 10 tonnes.
