Haensch, Johannes
Rahnsdorf, under a blue sky. Ca. 1926. Oil on canvas. 41.5 x 53 cm. Signed. Framed.
No longer with Maennig. - We would like to thank Dr Barbara Maennig for kindly confirming the authenticity. Provenance: Private collection Berlin. - Haensch, who was influenced by Impressionism, presents the popular excursion destination of Rahnsdorf on Müggelsee in the south-east of Berlin. The idyllic village is characterised by the strikingly soaring church tower, which blends peacefully into the red of the roof-lined houses. The artist contrasts this only with the leafy trees in the foreground, captured as they are moved by the wind. - Slightly dusty, very slight craquelure in one place on the left, occasional slight traces of ageing on the verso, overall very good. Atmospheric city view in fresh colouring.
