TWO PATRONYMIQUE PLATES - Picanon, 1766
Rare white earthenware pendant plates, decorated in blue monochrome representing respectively Saint Mary Magdalene and Saint Stephen with the respective inscriptions: "Magdelaine Robineau, Femme / d'etienne picanon, 1766" and "Etienne picanon 1766".
Nevers, second half of the 18th century.

We have found the subjects of our plates: Etienne Picasnon, a sailor, who married Madeleine Robineau on 3 October 1764 in Châteauneuf-sur-Loire (Loiret).
