TWO REGENCY DESKS in Boulle marquetry of gilt brass on a tortoiseshell background. The first opens with five drawers: a central one and two and two while the second opens with four drawers in two and two with a central leaf. Both desks stand on four cambered legs feet terminating in chased and gilt bronze ormolu sabots. Rich inlaid decoration of a dancing couple, monkeys, espagnolettes on one, a tea ceremony on the other with ottomans, Chinese, turqueries antics and other abundant motifs in the Bérain style such as foliage and fantastic animals.
