Two flintlock pistols of the King's bodyguard 1st model (1814), forming a pair. Round barrels with thunder flats, blued and patinated, marked in gold "GARDES DU CORPS DU ROI", hallmarked and decorated with gilt beaded friezes. Flat-bodied plates hallmarked by Bouyssavy and signed "Maubeuge Manufre Rle". Round-bodied hammers. All screws with guilloches. Mouthpieces, bridges with fronts engraved with a fleur-de-lys and counter plates hallmarked "D" in an oval. Brass caps with the Great Arms of France in laurel wreaths. Walnut stocks hallmarked and numbered "26" and "54". Length: 34.5 cm. Iron ramrods. Fairly good condition (wear to the blue and gold of the barrels). 1st Restoration period (1814).
