Weight in the form of a sphere with ten facets and a finely polished surface. It has neither the weight symbols usually engraved on the upper surface, nor the lead additions used for calibration to adjust the actual weight to the nominal value. This was the most common and longest-lasting type, from the Augustan period until the 5th century AD.
