Made of brass.
Body with two rings, engraved on the base "15 décembre 1840 Darche Fur des Théâtres & Concerts Paris".
The inside of the black lacquered pavilions painted in gold with a frieze of interlacing, imperial eagles and the numeral N in laurel wreaths.
One with support form.
Length: 137 cm
As is (accident, splintering and bending, one mouthpiece missing). Return of the Ashes period.

Commentary:
Jean Nicolas DARCHE, from a dynasty of instrument makers and luthiers, in collaboration with the trumpeter Schiltz, made natural straight trumpets in D and E for the Retour des Cendres (probably 31 in all), some of which are in the collections of the Conservatoire de musique de Paris.
