DEVISME A PARIS. Important hunting set, in varnished walnut covered with green velvet, marked in gold on the lid "DEVISME 26 BOULEVARD DES ITLAIENS ARQUEBUSIER BREVETE". It contains: 1) On a tray with two compartments, sheathed in form: - A pair of pistols. The barrels are rifled and blued (oxidation stains), decorated with silver, muzzles and thunderbolts, and signed in silver "DEVISME BREVETE A PARIS". Barrels numbered "1" and "2" and grey tempered breech pins engraved with rocaille motifs. Flat bodied front plates and hammers, finger rests, side caps with grey engraved rings and belt hooks. Rods with truncated cone-shaped heads on stirrups. Silver thumb pieces. Walnut stocks finely carved with foliage. Length: 38.5 cm. - Their accessories: two chopsticks, two screwdrivers, a mallet, a powder pod, a capsule box, a screwdriver for dismantling chimneys, a punch, a bullet mould, a lead ladle stamped "Devisme à Paris". - Two hunting daggers that can be fitted with bayonet tenons at the end of the barrels. Horn grips. Jaspered crossbars and keyboards. Blades signed "DEVISME A PARIS", one with median edge (total length: 43.5 cm), the other with median edge and groove (total length: 71 cm). The scabbards are made of sheet iron with an acorn-shaped cap for the first and a palmette-shaped cap for the second. Cut-out clevis buttons. 2) At the back of the case: - A walnut frame, with front locks signed "DEVISME A PARIS" and flat-bodied hammers engraved with scrolls. The breech tail is chased with foliage. Silver thumb piece. The pistol grip is partly squared and carved with foliage. Engraved iron fittings, opening butt plate revealing a screwdriver slot. - A pair of damascus rifled rifle barrels with leaf frogs, decorated with vine leaves and signed in silver "DEVISME A PARIS". The dagger is attached to the muzzles. Numbered "1112" and dated "1852" on the underside. Iron ramrod with brass tip. Length: 61 cm. - A pair of smooth damascus rifle barrels, decorated and signed in silver "DEVISME A PARIS". The dagger is attached to the muzzles. Numbered "1112", dated "1852" and stamped Léopold Bernard on the underside. Length: 76 cm. - Two ramrods. - Two powder flasks, one leather-covered, with blued screws and case-hardened measuring spout, the other leather-covered with measuring spout stamped "DRAMS", blued spring. - Lead box. -Large bullet mould with branches stamped "DEVISME", two calibres (for rifle and carbine). Calibre 16 mm for the rifle. 18 mm calibre for the rifle. Case: 83 x 29 x 13 cm high. Cracks to the stock neck and breech tail of the rifle/rifle mount.
