DINKY FRANCE ref. 561 HC Citroën 1200 kgs royal blue BAROCLEM. In 1966, the battery manufacturer BAROCLEM commissioned Meccano to produce a special series of Dinky-Toys Citroën vans in its corporate colours: royal blue with white advertising, to be used as promotional items. Several hundred models were distributed to the brand’s battery retailers, outside the traditional sales channels. Collectors, even when they were aware of its existence, had no access to it. Having been scattered far and wide, a large proportion of the models have been destroyed. Only a few lucky enthusiasts had the opportunity to acquire one. Collectors often had to make do with second-hand examples that had been played with by children. The model we are offering here has been played with but nevertheless looks good – we are including the BAROCLEM Bakelite storage box, specially made to fit the Dinky Toys van, so that it can be used as outer packaging, although this was not always the case. and a reproduced cardboard box.
