Dino MARTENS (1894-1970) for Aureliano TOSO. Vase from the "Oriente" series model Geltrude 5299 in glass with patchwork decoration and copper inclusions, filigree and spiral motif. 1954. Height Height: 28.5 cm Dino MARTENS was born in Venice in 1894. Trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, he practiced drawing, but was also a designer. He exhibited his work at the Venice Biennale between 1924 and 1930. MARTENS becomes artistic director of the famous Aureliano Toso glassworks. His work is particularly noteworthy for its use of both traditional Venetian techniques and bold, original shapes and renderings. The technical prowess required to produce his works makes them unique. Our vase for sale is part of the "Oriente" series and perfectly illustrates the virtuosity of his creations.
