Probably German, mid 17th century.
Iron grip twisted and wrapped with wire netting, pommel-shaped grip end. Quillons with two crosspieces on the blade side. Flamed blade with a central ridge, engraved or etched and gilt decoration in the form of tendrils, grotesques and cartouches. Indistinctly marked "Polet".
