This is followed by 17 anatomical engravings derived from woodcuts from 'De humani Corporis Fabrica' Basel, 1543, by Andrea Vesalio, to which the controversial attribution of Titian's anatomical drawings is linked. The engravings are initialled 'D.B.S.'. 'Domenico Bonavera sculpsit' and he also initialled 'T.I.D.' 'Tizianus inventor delineavit'. Moisture marks and blisters and holes caused by moths, the latter never affecting the inside from the strike mark. Binding not contemporary.
