Condition report: Torn, missing, cracked An artist from Cotonou in Benin, Zinkpé was awarded the Jeune Talent Africain prize in 1993 and the Prix UEMOA at the Dakar Biennale ten years later. Internationally recognised and committed, he uses a variety of materials in his work, including jute canvas, cars and Hôhô figurines from southern Benin. His art reflects a duality between ancestral culture and contemporary society.
