Lot no. 62
DORIVAL (Géo). Chamonix - Mont-Blanc. Paris, Corneille et Serre, 1921. Colour lithographed poster, 108 x 74 cm, framed in plexiglas. Superb poster depicting Mont-Blanc from the Casino lake in autumn. Condition: A. It was reprinted for the inauguration of the new casino in 1923. The style heralds the artist's move towards a more pared-down style, typical of Art Deco, which he would express to the full in the triptych "Vers le Mont-Blanc", published to mark the inauguration of the Train du Mont-Blanc in 1928.
Géo Dorival (Paris 1879 - Louveciennes 1968) was a French painter and poster artist.
