Three Rörken of the miller in Ribnitz. Pewter. Above a domed stand with a central bulge, a conically widening body divided by profiled grooves and bands with a strongly domed hinged lid in the centre. An engraved depiction of a windmill and the inscription "Das Riebnitzer Ampt" on the front of the wall. Above it dat. "1759" or "1739" (?). Spherical thumb rest, merging into a conical band handle. Painted by master Hans Conrad Gottespfennig (became master in 1714). H. 21.2 cm - 22.8 cm. Provenance: formerly Ludwig Mory collection. In a southern German private collection since 1991. Cf. Hintze, Norddeutschland, p. 358, no. 1914 f., where another Röhrken is mentioned, dat. "1739" probably from the same set in the Maximilians-Museum in Augsburg. A set of three German dated and lidded pewter craft's cups of the millers. Marked. German. Rostock. Circa 1739/1759.
