The large, beautiful watercolour of Essartoux was painted ten years before the Génissiat dam was built, wiping it off the map. It is labelled lower left and signed and dated lower right. It should be noted that the village was in Haute-Savoie, contrary to the artist's designation, which locates it in the Ain. The views of Chindrieux are a watercolour and an ink wash respectively.
