First edition, illustrated with 20 etchings and 20 hors-texte drawings and one drawing and one heliogravure in the text by Joanny Drevet. Introductory text by Charles Maurras. One of the first 21 copies on Japon (N°15). The illustration includes: - three original drawings: Rue du Palais in Nice, Monaco and Vallée de la Vaire in Saint-Benoit - a suite of 20 state proofs of the etchings, - a suite of 20 etchings on Japon paper, - one suite of 20 etchings on B. F. K. de Rives. The announced copperplate is missing. An autograph letter from Charles Maurras on the letterhead of l'Action Française dated 1930, an autograph letter from Joanny Drevet dated 1937, a postcard (portrait of Charles Maurras by Fred Boissonnas), two original press agency photographs of Charles Maurras, the first with his defender at the entrance to the Palais de Justice in 1836, the second at a private meeting at the Velodrome d'Hiver in July 1937 on his release from the Santé prison where he had spent 250 days because of death threats against Léon Blum. This representative of the French far right was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1945 for high treason. He was pardoned in 1952 for health reasons and died eight months later at the age of 84.
