New collective edition of these two works on the civil and military customs of the Romans, originally published in 1555 and 1556. Profuse woodcut illustration attributed to Pierre Eskrich. The Discourse on Religion includes 602 medallions and engravings in the text; the Discourse on Castrametation, 37 full-page figures, and the appendix on Baths, 6 figures, 3 of which are full-page. Without the folding plate Figure of the Roman camp mentioned only by Baudrier. First and last pages soiled and repaired in the corners. Baudrier, IX, 383.
