(dedication to King Henri IV with his portrait, notice to the reader, Latin poems dedicated to the author, index), 442 pp. 14 ff. index. Second edition of one of the most important anatomical treatises of the late 16th century. Superb frontispiece with medallion portrait of the author in an architectural setting with two écorchés and a seated skeleton on the pediment, engraved portrait of Henri IV on the dedication page and 26 full-page engraved anatomical plates (based on figures by Vésale), numerous large historiated initials. André du Laurens (Tarascon 1558 - Paris 1609) was the physician to Marie de Médicis and Henri IV. Handwritten bookplates De Mageron and Du Bermont on the margin of the frontispiece. Stamps Dr G.
