HISTORIA ANATOMICA HUMANI CORPORIS et singularum ejus partium multis controversus et observationibus novis illustrata Frankfurt, Matthaeum Becker impensis Theodoricii de Brii viduae et duorum filiarum (1600). In-folio of [24]-442-[28] pages, brown basane, spine ribbed (contemporary binding). Second edition of one of the most important anatomical treatises of the late 16th century (the first in 1595). It is adorned with a fine engraved title with a portrait of the author surrounded by 2 ecorchés, a portrait of King Henri IV at the head of the dedication and 26 REMARKABLE full-page plates after those of Vesalius, all engraved on copper. André Du Laurens was Henri IV's first physician. Title awkwardly rebacked with marginal lacks, light rings, margin of one plate consolidated, 2 others trimmed short with slight lacks, binding worn and restored. Handwritten ex libris on title: Docteur Serain 1747.
