DUBRUNFAUT (Augustin). The art of making beet sugar... Paris, Bachelier, 1825. In-8, red half calf with small corners, 4 ribbed spine, gilt lace, cold fleurons, daffodil edges (Binding of the period). XVI - 559 p. Rare edition (Vicaire ignores this work), decorated with six folding plates and a table. Dubrunfaut, a famous professor of industrial chemistry and author of a treatise on distillation (1823 - 2 vols.), gave up teaching in 1833 to put his theories into practice. A fine copy in an attractive contemporary binding (a few very light brown spots).
