Uncommon edition published as a supplement to the newspaper Le Siècle from 28 September 1845 to 15 January 1846, immediately after the serial publication of the novel in Le Journal des Débats, from August 1844 to January 1846.
The volume consists of 51 two-column issues of 8 pp. each, plus 2 ff. for the general title and table. Monte-Christo is still spelled with an h in the text, but not on the title, and the last issue contains François Picaud, Histoire contemporaine.

Attached is a l.a.s. from Louis Desnoyers to Paul Lacroix. Desnoyers (1802-1868) was the literary editor of Le Siècle and founder of the Société des gens de lettres.
