AD 400 - 600 A gold ring with a broad flat hoop and a small square bezel plate engraved with a Chi-Rho monogram, formed from the intersecting first two Greek letters of Christos, chi (Χ) and rho (Ρ), between two columns with simplified capitals and bases. Size: D:19.15mm / US: 9 1/4 / UK: S; Weight: 10.4g. Provenance: Private London collection of an established Mayfair dealer and scholar with over 40 years of experience; previously part of 1970s-1990s UK collection. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
