Excellent format-filling depiction with strong application of colour. Not in Güse. - Precisely dated and inscribed "handgez. Oil colour, 15 07 59, / 4". - "In painting and drawing, too, Glöckner (since 1959, note) lent expression and form to movement in rapid sweeps, powerful strokes of palette knife, smudging blotches or twitching strokes." (Güse, p. 42 cited in Werner Schmidt et al., H. G. zum 100. Geburtstag, 1989, p. 24f.) Oil paint on glassine paper. Signed, verso signed, dated ("15 07 59") and annotated as oil drawing, all with pencil. Spot-mounted to underlying card-board. - With one vertical crease, and due to the structure of the glassine paper with slight creasing overall, with little wear at one place. All in all good.
